About Bansko
Bansko is a town in Blagoevgrad Province, southwestern Bulgaria, at the foot of the Pirin Mountains. It is best known as Bulgaria's leading ski resort, with a long winter season and a well-developed lift system. The old quarter has cobbled streets, stone houses, a church, and mehanas serving local cuisine. The town has grown as a resort, with many hotels and apartment complexes around the gondola base and along the road to the old town.
